The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce commends Senator Marco Rubio for supporting the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, which would delay flood insurance premium increases for four years, allowing time for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to complete an affordability study.  Senator Bill Nelson was one of the early proponents of the bill.  “The Chamber is pleased that our two United States Senators and our local Congressional delegation all back the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.  This legislation will provide the appropriate due diligence in looking at flood insurance premium adjustments and offer a solution to drastic rate hikes on our community,” stated Bob Rohrlack, president and CEO.
