Fisher & Phillips Transitions Leadership to Steve Bernstein
National labor and employment law firm Fisher &
Phillips LLP announces that Steve Bernstein has resumed his role as managing partner of the firm’s Tampa office. He previously served as managing partner from 2008 to 2011.
The change is part of a planned leadership rotation. Bernstein assumes the role following Christine Howard’s three-year term as managing partner. Tampa is one of several Fisher & Phillips offices that incorporate a rotational leadership structure. Howard looks forward to continuing her role as a key partner in the Tampa office, collaborating with her clients to resolve complex employment challenges.
Bernstein helped build the firm’s labor practice and grow the Tampa office. Over the past 20 years, he has maintained a traditional labor practice, representing employers throughout the United States. He has been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers, selected for The Best Lawyers in America and listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bernstein is active in the community. He’s currently serving as Legal Counsel to the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys.

All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine patients with life-limiting illnesses will attend a special homecoming dance this weekend. This is the second year All Children’s Hospital will host the event for patients who are unable to attend their own school dance – or simply feel too nervous or uncomfortable to go. More than 50 kids diagnosed with anything from a complex heart condition to cancer are expected to attend the dance this year. Before the kids head off for the big event, they will be treated to a day of style, complete with salon services including hair and makeup. Last month, patients and their guests geared up for the dance at a dress shopping event where they searched through hundreds of donated dresses, suits and accessories to find the perfect attire for the big day. Hundreds of employees and members of the community made the entire event possible by donating items including decorations, dresses, suits, shoes, accessories and salon services. The new scholarship program was launched by the port, the Tampa Propeller Club and Tampa Port Ministries, while the maritime curriculum at selected high schools was championed by the local Tampa Propeller Club chapter, working closely with the school district.
