Tampa, FL – Workforce Development Partners, Corp. is gearing up for its busiest three-week span of the year. From April 6th – April 27, our Chamber member hopes to connect 12,000+ high school students from 32 schools and 8 communities with employers in the region. If you have entry level jobs, apprenticeships and/or job training programs to fill, Workforce Development Partners wants to connect with you! Less than 2 weeks before the launch date of its 2023 Future Career Academy job fair season, the community organization is seeking participation by more local businesses.
In partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools and Hillsborough County Government, the organization recruits employers in various sectors including automotive, construction, local government, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, hospitality, and distribution. They host the annual job fairs, organized by region. Participating businesses and the high schools are specific to that region of focus. On April 6th, the focus will be on job opportunities in the East Tampa area. On April 11 - 12 at the Tampa Convention Center, the job fair will focus on Central Hillsborough and South Tampa, plus NE and NW Hillsborough County. April 19 – 20 the focus will be on South and East Hillsborough County and culminate with the April 27 job fair in Plant City – where the Future Career Academy was born nearly 8 years ago.
During the one-day job fairs, the morning sessions at each location target high school students in its Future Career Academy Program, while afternoon sessions are open to adult participants, post -high school. The later program, called Best Florida Jobs, was borne out of success stories from student-employer pairings. Family and friends of participating high school students sought to connect with local jobs, training programs and apprenticeships too. By adding the Best Florida Jobs program within each region’s job fair allows employers to connect with applicants at all levels.
