Congratulations to the University of South Florida on its acceptance into the Association of American Universities! USF is the first public university in 40 years to be included in the AAU. The prestigious group is comprised of 71 leading research institutions in North America and membership is by invitation only. The June 1st announcement by USF President Rhea Law confirmed USF is the fifth youngest university in the AAU. “This is a historic and momentous achievement for USF. Especially when considering we were founded in 1956, to now officially be recognized by our peers as one of America’s leading research universities, is a shining example of our university community’s determination, innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence. Reaching this milestone only strengthens our ambition to improve lives and positively shape the future of our society, " said Law.

“USF already plays a key role working with businesses in our region to help bring and grow thousands of high-paying jobs in our community. As an AAU member, USF Bulls are now even better positioned to help drive economic development in our region, and that benefits the entire community,” said Bob Rohrlack, Chamber President & CEO.
