It’s not your typical cap and gown ceremony, instead graduates arrived in police and sheriff’s office uniforms. Chamber member Saint Leo University graduated its 27th cohort of the Command Officer Management Program earlier this month. The unique six-month program prepares law enforcement officers for command and includes a focus on human resources, critical incident management, ethics, leadership and more. The graduating class was comprised of 17 law enforcement officers from Tampa Police, Temple Terrace Police, Zephyrhills Police and Seminole Police departments, plus the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. Delivering the commencement was newly named Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, a graduate of Saint Leo University’s doctoral program in Criminal Justice and a member of Leadership Tampa Class of 2017.
