The Transportation Referendum being debated in the Florida Legislature this session is among the priority items asked about by WFLA 970AM Radio Host Ron Gorman. During the inaugural podcast interview for the '24 CEO Spotlight Series, Gorman interviewed Brian Adcock, 2024 Chair of the Tampa Bay Chamber's Board of Directors.

Adcock discussed the Chamber's position on the return of $570 million in escrow collected from the 2018 Hillsborough County Transportation Surtax, before it was nullified by the FL Supreme Court in 2021. From the 5 minute - 10 minute mark, Adcock shares details of the Chamber's advocacy efforts in Tallahassee for the return of those funds to Hillsborough County, for use only on transportation projects.
Since starting his tenure as Chair in December 2023, Adcock has been part of the Chamber's advocacy campaign on this transportation issue, mobilizing voters in the Tampa Bay region to send letters to their state legislators. A backlog of more than $13 Billion in transportation projects are in a holding pattern awaiting funding.
The president of Adcock Financial Group was also asked about the local economy, retirement accounts, and a recession.
