The Tampa Bay Business Journal featured Chair Brian Adcock in its June 14, 2024 feature of local business leaders. The story by editor Alexis Muellner is titled Tampa Bay Chamber Chair Brian Adcock wants to help members navigate AI. The Q&A covers a variety of topics from personal to business. Adcock was asked about following in his father's footsteps into the business world, being the middle child in a family of three sons, and navigating between the worlds of financial planning, executive benefits and wealth management.
Here's a portion of that exchange between Adcock and Muellner:
Were you expected to follow your dad into the business? It was a natural progression. My dad and I have talked about it since I was a kid — even when I didn't fully understand his business.
Was it then more insurance-oriented? Yes. He did high-end estate planning work, and he absolutely loved and gravitated toward it. He loved the complexity of those cases and had a ferocious appetite for getting up at 4 a.m. every morning. He would study and dictate. He had an incredible work ethic.
As this year's Chair of the Board, Adock is passionate about helping businesses understand the emerging trends in generative artificial intelligence. Our thanks to TBBJ's editor for the great interview. To read the full article, click on story headline.
