The wait is over! In partnership with the Tampa Bay Chamber, the Tampa Bay Business Journal was the first to announce the professionals selected for the Leadership Tampa Class of 2025! As one of the nation's oldest leadership programs of its kind, we are thrilled to welcome another generation of Tampa Bay area leaders to the LT experience! TBBJ Managing Editor Pam Huff introduced readers to the class, which is diverse in job sectors, career stages, and ages, as well as ethnic and racial background. She interviewed the Class' chair, Kerry O'Reilly, who is a graduate of LT 2015.
The story reads in part:
When reviewing applicants, the chamber looked for certain qualities including commitment and motivation to serve the Tampa Bay area; policy-shaping and catalytic responsibility or a position of leadership within their organization; commitment to volunteerism, resulting in significant influence on important issues facing the community; diversity of ethnicity, age, industry and experiences; and ability to commit to the time and dates required by the program. This year's chair is Kerry O'Reilly from the class of 2015 and vice chair is Kari Goetz from the class of 2018. O'Reilly said he wanted to give back as chair this year, and he's "excited to serve." What stands out most to him in this year's class makeup is diversity. "We are blessed to have a broad span of ethnicities, industries and experiences represented," he said in an email to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. "Leadership Tampa is the third oldest leadership program in the nation and exclusive to the Tampa Bay Chamber. It’s very competitive to get in, but once you do you build connections and understanding to help move the city forward," O'Reilly said.
