Name:  Cami Gibertini
LT Class Year: 2004
Company Name:  Hancock Whitney

Interviewed by: Laura Frost and Stacy Miller

They met at Starbuck’s on Howard and talked about everything from financial literacy for young girls to an upcoming Disney weekend for adult milestone birthdays; from the importance of wearing our retainers to the cherished value of being a lifelong legacy Girl Scout. Then, there was Yellowstone, The Women, J. Alexander’s and email etiquette: “be quick, be brief, be gone.”  Cami’s energy is contagious; anytime you can spend time with her, do it!

1.     Tell us, why LTA?

I’d say Why Not LTA – it’s an amazing organization that offers so many benefits to all Alums to stay connected, informed and engaged in all that’s happening in Tampa.  I appreciate all the networking opportunities to experience our beautiful city and to get to see other Alums, especially my “Class of 2004” friends.  (We really are the “Best Class Ever”) LOL

  1.     For you, what separates LTA from other business leadership programs?

For me, it’s always been about the awesome people and amazing relationships I made during my class year and beyond with participating in LTA events. I love the positive energy of LTA and always feel welcomed and appreciated.

  1.     Describe a time when the LTA experience impacted your life or career?

I was incredibly honored to have Grace Maseda-Sainz invite me to join her LTA Executive Cabinet to begin in January 2025.  I believe this to be at a time, where I can help make a positive impact in the program and alongside so many committed leaders in Tampa.  I am thrilled to serve and look forward to experiencing more of the LTA experience.

  1.     What is a LTA benefit you wish everyone knew about?

I think a benefit that may be underestimated is in the power to building dynamic personal and professional relationships with being a member of LTA.  We all start with that common thread of being a part of a “Best Class Ever” and it’s an immediate connection opportunity to get to know each other.  I made great friends and professional colleagues from my class and we are still strong today.

  1.     Describe how the leadership journey will continue to shape you?

I admire so many of my LTA friends that I simply enjoy being in the same room and continuing to learn from them all. We have such expansive, knowledgeable and experienced leaders from so many different industries, that it inspires me to show up and speak up.

 Fun Facts about You/Local Knowledge:

  •       Latest movie, book, streaming series or a combination?

Kristin Hannah’s “The Women” is one of my favorite books. I am an avid reader and adore/prefer historical fiction. This novel is about deep friendships and bold patriotism. “Women can be heroes” - A must-read!

Streaming is “Yellowstone” on Paramount+.  It’s where I saw the mountains in Montana and had to go see it for myself. I have visited 5x in 2 years!  It’s true what they say “The Mountains are calling. And I must go”. It’s my happy place.

  •       Favorite spot to meet friends/colleagues for coffee, lunch or happy hour-----

The Oxford Exchange, Forbici’s and J Alexander’s are all fan-fav’s.  Although I was recently at Malio’s for Happy Hour with friends and we had a blast!

  •       For staycation in Tampa Bay, you like to……
My husband and I love going to Safety Harbor, Dunedin and Clearwater & Sand Key  Beach. Riding our bikes, being outside in the sunshine and enjoying life.
  •       When out-of-town guests are visiting, you plan….

Love to take our out-of-town friends and families to the Riverwalk, Armature Works and walk along Bayshore Blvd.

  •       Any upcoming initiatives/passion projects we need to know about?

Oh yes!  We (Hancock Whitney) sponsor the upcoming Women’s Conference of Florida on Friday, December 13th at the Tampa Convention Center. The day before I am proud to facilitate “Financial Literacy” training with approx. 75 “Young College Women on the Rise”.  Definitely a passion of mine to educate and empower young women with the knowledge and skills they need to help them on a path to a bright financial future.

Also, I am the Board Chair for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida. We are gearing up for another amazing “Women of Distinction” Luncheon on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at Armature Works. In its 33rd year, the event celebrates six women in Tampa Bay, each year and attracts more than 600 business and community leaders across Tampa Bay.
