“What sets us apart with our clients is the experience that we create,” said Adam Thomas, Market leader for Tampa at Forvis Mazars U.S.

The product of a 2022 merger between accounting firms Dixon Huges Goodman and BKD CPAs & Advisors, Forvis is a top 10 national CPA and consulting firm providing audit, tax, and consulting solutions to clients in all 50 states and across multiple industries including financial services, nonprofit, construction, real estate, and manufacturing & distribution.

Last summer, Forvis expanded even further, partnering with international accounting firm Mazars to launch a new global network to better serve the needs of clients in over 100 countries. “It gives us the opportunity to provide a lot more value to the companies that are international, or those that would like to do business overseas or vice versa if there’s a company that’s international and wanting to do business in the U.S.  This could mean helping them navigate local tax issues, performing statutory audits, or other consulting needs for a growing business,” Thomas said.

The firm’s office in Tampa has been serving clients for over seven years and has grown from 9 employees to over 85. Thomas credits this growth to the firm’s positive company culture. “Our culture is a very open-door policy where the leaders are accessible. I think our desire and willingness to try to help everybody on our team reach their career goals and provide a strong coaching environment create a space where people can enjoy coming to work because they know they’re helping their clients achieve their goals,” Thomas said.

Whether it’s navigating ever-changing tax regulations, succession planning, getting ready for a potential business sale, going through the IPO process or more, Forvis Mazars is dedicated to providing its clients with unmatched client experience. “We listen to our clients and companies that we work with to understand how we can provide value,” Thomas said. “They know that we’re going to pick up the phone when they call, they know that we’re going to help them find an answer, whether it’s something we can figure out on the spot or we have to do some research and pull in some subject matter experts, they know that we’re going to help them.”

A member of the Chamber since 2017, Forvis Mazars has found the Tampa Bay Chamber to be a valuable resource in getting connected with the business community. Several employees have participated in Emerging Leaders and Hub for Business. Thomas has participated in Leadership Tampa and several Benchmarking trips over the last few years. “I’ve been to Boston, Charlotte, and Austin with the Chamber,” Thomas said. “It’s good connections, it’s fun listening to what other cities are doing and comparing it to what we’re attempting here in Tampa. The networking and bonding of the trip is pretty powerful as well.”
