Objective
The Member Partnership and Internship Partnership Director position will be responsible for leading efforts to collaborate with Tampa Chamber members, the Bellini Center for Talent Development, and USF business students and Alumni to facilitate internship and entry-level opportunities while supporting the membership opportunities within the Chamber. Our partnership with USF bridges the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that Tampa Bay businesses have access to top-tier talent while students and alumni gain the experience needed for career success. This role involves managing marketing strategies ensuring the integrity of the Chamber’s business brand, building partnerships with Chamber members, and overseeing the collection and reporting of student placement data. The Director will work closely with Bellini Center and Chamber members, to ensure successful student placement outcomes and provide ongoing support to employers.
Responsibilities and Standards for Performance
- Serve as a liaison between Chamber members and the Bellini Center for Talent Development to coordinate internship and entry-level job opportunities, aiming to understand and develop a talent pipeline with USF business students and alumni.
- Network with Chamber members to identify potential internship and entry-level job opportunities for Bellini Center for Talent Development students.
- Responsibilities will include developing and implementing internships and entry-level opportunities for undergraduate business students.
- Establish partnership with Chamber members, support existing internship programs and assist with the development of new programs.
- Maintain records of internship and entry-level placements, support Bellini Center staff for surveys to evaluate success.
- Establish a database of Chamber members actively seeking interns and full-time employees, track progress in the hiring process and assess the effectiveness of the tracking system.
- Support compliance with all laws and regulations related to internships.
- Facilitate Internship Programming Workshops: Coordinate with Bellini Center series of workshops on effective job descriptions, applicants’ skills assessments, interview process and placement data.
- Coordinate with Chamber marketing staff to develop a strategy to promote the internship program to Chamber members.
- Work with membership department on special projects identifying member engagement and database efficiency
- Identifies non-member companies and proactively provides introduction or pathway to discuss partnership opportunities outside of the internship
- Support Chamber members to utilize their member benefits
- Meets on monthly basis with Bellini Center staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Marketing, or related field. Or equivalent of a minimum of five (5) years’ work experience working with membership organizations, universities member/investor relations with a corporation.
- Ability to self-direct, establish and achieve goals.
- Strong relationship building and networking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of the Tampa Bay business community and key industry sectors
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Able to learn and effectively and efficiently use Chamber management and database software
- Works cooperatively and positively with all Chamber staff members and volunteers to promote an environment of excellence, teamwork, dignity and respect.
- Exhibits a total commitment to maintaining high quality service standards of the Tampa Bay Chamber; demonstrates service excellence skills in dealing proactively with members, visitors, colleagues, and all Chamber contacts.
