The Tampa Bay Chamber released a formal statement in support of the Tampa Bay Rays’ proposed new stadium and mixed-use development project.

In the statement, Tampa Bay Chamber President and CEO Bob Rohrlack and Tampa Bay Chamber Chairman Rob Ledford said, “...this investment represents a transformational opportunity for the future of the Tampa Bay region.”

According to Rohrlack and Ledford, the Chamber’s support is conditional on the “allocation of Community Investment Tax revenues being structured to protect the long-term fiscal capacity of the region, ensuring that existing infrastructure priorities remain fully supported and that the future funding flexibility is preserved.”

The statement also emphasized the importance of ensuring that the investment not compromise commitments to other professional sports and entertainment assets that are integral to Tampa Bay’s economy and identity.

As the voice of Business for the Tampa Bay region, the Chamber remains actively engaged in this conversation and committed to working alongside local leaders to ensure a path forward that strengthens our economy and benefits the entire community.
