Support of Military Families During Operation Epic Fury

Earlier this spring, after thoughtful consideration and conversation with military stakeholders at MacDill Air Force Base, the Tampa Bay Chamber made the very difficult decision to cancel our 2026 Military Appreciation event.

In partnership with installation and community leaders, these funds have helped address immediate quality-of-life and family support needs during a period of heightened operational tempo. We are grateful for USAA’s flexibility, leadership, and continued investment in our military community, reinforcing why Tampa Bay continues to be recognized as Military Bay USA. To date we’ve been able to reach 800 military members and their families – meeting them where they are at with what they need most.

Leadership Tampa
Leadership Tampa: Sports Day, Class Reflection

The Leadership Tampa Class of 2026 spent Sports Day inside the organizations and leadership teams that power Tampa Bay’s sports ecosystem—an industry that extends far beyond the field of play. From the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ training facility to Benchmark International Arena, USF’s evolving athletic campus, and the broader “Team Tampa Bay” collaboration, the day reinforced a clear theme: sports in Tampa Bay aren’t just entertainment. They’re economic drivers, cultural anchors, and community builders.

One takeaway stood out throughout the day: success in modern sports isn’t defined only, by wins and losses. It’s about creating experiences, developing talent, and driving regional impact at scale.

Organizational Excellence

Tampa Bay Chamber Celebrates Its 141st Birthday

On May 7th, 1885 - 141 years ago, a group of visionary leaders gathered at Branch’s Opera House to form what was then known as the Tampa Board of Trade, laying the foundation for what would become the Tampa Bay Chamber.

From supporting the creation of transportation systems, universities, and MacDill Air Force Base, to championing business growth, leadership development, and regional collaboration, the Chamber has played a role in helping shape the Tampa Bay region for more than a century.

While so much has changed since 1885, one thing has remained the same: our members are the heart of this organization. Thank you to our members, sponsors, volunteers, Board of Directors, community partners, and staff for continuing to move Tampa Bay forward together.

Member Testimonials on Social Media

Leadership Tampa

“Recently, I graduated from Leadership Tampa, Class of 2026. When I was selected for the program, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect… As a retired Air Force officer, one of the biggest takeaways for me was spending time with people whose life experiences were very different from my own. At times it was hard to relate to every perspective, but that is exactly what made the experience for me. Most importantly, I had the privilege of sharing the journey with an exceptional group of classmates who care deeply about this region and its future.”

Face the Chamber Attendee

“This morning was a great reminder of why I love the City of Tampa. I had the opportunity to attend the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Face the Chamber breakfast at the beautiful Hilton Tampa Downtown and hear firsthand from Mayor Jane Castor about the opportunities and challenges shaping our region’s future. The conversations were important. The relationships were even more important. Tampa’s future is bright because of the people willing to show up, listen, collaborate, and lead. The weather often defines our city, but it’s the people in rooms like this who determine its future.”

Member Success Stories

Our members have been active on both social media and at our events where they are connecting, leading, and growing. Currently, we are averaging 69,000 followers on LinkedIN with 560 new members in April! Take a look at the top three social media posts with which members have been engaging:

Here are a few things our members have had to say in May!

"By the end of the night I'd delivered my pitch five times and heard roughly twenty others. Round one was the version I walked in with. By round three I'd dropped two sentences I didn't need. By round five I'd found where I need to sharpen my pitch further to reflect what we actually do" - in reference to a recent Get Connected event

"I just wrapped up one of the most energizing networking experiences I’ve had in a long time, and I’m still riding the momentum from it. The room was buzzing from the moment we walked in new faces, familiar faces, business owners, community leaders, innovators, and people who genuinely want to build something meaningful here in Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay Chamber set the tone perfectly. Four full rounds of networking, six people at every table, and every single rotation felt like a brand‑new opportunity. By the end, it felt like we had traveled through four different micro‑communities each one full of ideas, stories, and potential partnerships. What made it special wasn’t just the structure. It was the energy. The laughter. The handshakes. The “Oh wow, we should definitely connect after this” moments. The “I didn’t know your company did that let’s talk” conversations." - in reference to a recent Get Connected event

"This LT day really stood out for the passion of everyone involved and the obvious joy and pride these teams and arenas have brought to our community. Champabay proud! Also, I got to make my husband super jealous by trying on both a Super Bowl Ring and a Stanley Cup Ring. Huge thanks to our sponsors, our day chairs, and the Tampa Bay Chamber for a wonderful experience." - in reference to a recent LT program day
