Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg
Founded in 1968, Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg provides a broad array of social services to all individuals regardless of race, religion, or status. Governed by a Board of Trustees and supported by two subsidiaries (Catholic Charities Housing and Catholic Charities Community Development Corp.), the agency focuses on social justice and self-sufficiency through three umbrella ministries of mercy: Shelters of Hope, Foundations of Life, and Friends in Need. In 2025, the agency operated with a $22 million budget, 175 employees, and 250+ volunteers to serve nearly 36,900 individuals across a five-county area (Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus). Our impact is targeted toward the vulnerable, with 56% of clients meeting HUD’s "Extremely Low" income definition and an average household income of $4,985. Core services include homeless shelters, medical respite, affordable housing development, immigration aid, and pregnancy support. These programs are sustained through a mix of government funds, community foundations, Diocesan contributions, and private donations. Learn more at ccdosp.org.
