Tampa Bay Chamber Involvement

Jeff Chernoff is a native of Tampa Bay who works in his family business. As President of IAT, Inc or Insurance and Trust, Jeff focuses on multiple lines of insurance and investments. Jeff and his family take pride in his being a 3rd generation advisor serving businesses, families, and individuals. 

Prior to his work in financial services, Jeff worked in higher education at the University of North Dakota, Ferris State University, and Virginia Tech. He holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree from the University of North Dakota. He also holds two designations: Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and Life and Annuity Certified Professional (LACP).

Jeff currently serves as a member of the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Board of Directors, Chair of Policy Advisory Committee, and as a member of the Chamber’s Finance Committee. Previous to this Jeff has worked with the Minority Business Accelerator, Minority Empowerment Program, served as a mentor for Emerging Leaders Mentor-Protégé program, been a past Day Chair for Collegiate Leadership Tampa Bay, Day Chair for Leadership Tampa, and is a past Chair for Leadership Tampa Alumni and Emerging Leaders.

In addition to his Chamber involvement, Jeff is very active with his industry organization by serving as a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) National Political Action Committee, has been a past President of both NAIFA- Florida, and his local chapter NAIFA-Tampa Bay. In 2022, his volunteer work was recognized nationally as he was selected as the Young Advisor of the Year. Jeff is actively involved with Stage Works and Instruments of Change.

Jeff and his wife, Cara, and their son Joshua, reside in Tampa.
