Barry Martin currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for CareerSource Tampa Bay where he oversees talent management, employee relations, health and welfare benefit administration and employee development and engagement.  He has over 30 years’ experience in human resources, program, and financial administration and management in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Prior to relocating to Florida in 2020 and joining CareerSource Tampa Bay, Barry served as Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Skowhegan Savings Bank.  In this role he served as a member of the Senior Management Team and had oversight for succession management and culture transformation, talent acquisition and management, health and welfare benefits, employee relations and training and education.  During this time, Barry also served as Director of the Maine State Human Resources Council (MESHRM) and President for the Kennebec Valley Human Resources Association. 

Barry has worked tirelessly in the workforce development arena serving as Executive Director for the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board at the Eastern Maine Development Corporation where he promoted enhanced coordination between workforce development, the business sector and economic development systems in the region as well as oversight responsibilities for Department of Labor Workforce Development Programs.  Barry served as a Gubernatorial Appointee to the Maine Jobs Council for over 10 years.  He has also served as Director of Administration for the Maine Department of Labor’s Bureau of Employment Services.

Barry is a graduate of the University of Maine holding a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration.  He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP and SPHR).
