
Chris Chambers
Security and Emergency Management Manager – Tampa Electric Company
Chris Chambers works for Tampa Electric and is the Security and Emergency Management Manager. In this role Chris ensures the security of the company’s power generating assets and ensures emergency preparedness across the Energy Supply Department. Chrishas been active in the maritime security arena for 20years to include active and reserve duty in the U.S. Coast Guard where he has conducted numerous maritime security and law enforcement operations including counter-narcotic operations, illegal immigration operations, Presidential Security Details and Port, Waterways, & Coastal Security (PWCS) missions. Chris currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor for Coast Guard Station San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Chris is passionate about the Tampa Bay area which is evident by his community involvement. Chris is the past President of the Port of Tampa Propellor Club, he currently serves as a board member for R.I.S.E Tampa, Our Police Foundation, board member for the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, and board member for AdventHealth Carrollwood Foundation. Additionally, Chris is a participating member of the Tampa Bay Harbor Safety and Security Committee, the Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC) Executive Committee. Chris previously served as the Chair for Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay Catalyst Committee where he advocated for young professionals to get more involved with public policy issues.
Chris is the 2019 recipient of the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader of the Year Award and a 2021 Honoree for the Tampa Bay Business Journal 40 under 40 award.
