Ed Ellsasser is the President of PrimeGroup Insurance.  Ed started PGI in 1999 and PGI has offices in Tampa, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.  PGI offers commercial insurance, employee benefits, and personal lines insurance including home and auto.  PrimeGroup’s Core Values centers on clients, employees, and giving back in the communities where we do business.  PGI has won the 2016 Florida’s Company to Watch Award.  PGI has also been nominated for many other awards including Best Places to Work, Small Business of the Year, Top 25 Tampa Bay P and C Agency, and Corporate Philanthropy Award.  Ed previously was a partner in PrimePay which had a 160 million dollar exit in March of 2021 and has been an investor in real estate and other businesses.

CEO’s in Schools-Ed and PGI Adopted West Tampa Elementary 3 years ago and are providing support to this Title 1 School.  Projects have included bringing art to the campus, helping to start a PTA that now has 40+ members, donating books and computers for the library, sponsoring several teacher appreciation lunches, and much more.

Ed was also on the board of the Sunset Park Homeowners Association for many years where he led the effort to raise money to restore the historic signs in the neighborhood.  He also volunteered with Tampa Bay Wave mentoring technology startups and with HCC’s Operation Start Up which helps military veterans looking to start or improve their business.  He is currently mentoring a third member of the Tampa Chamber’s Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay. 

Ed’ lives in Tampa with his wife Laura and his sons Austin (20) and Joseph (17) and has helped advise his son Austin in his landscaping business and real estate business.  Austin currently has 85 accounts in South Tampa and has purchased 2 investment properties.  Ed enjoys sports, boating, fishing, and skiing with his family.
