Emily L. Mahoney is the Political Director of the Tampa Bay Times. Previously, Emily did investigative work for the Miami Herald and also covered the state Legislature for the Tampa Bay Times as part of the combined Times/Miami Herald Tallahassee bureau. She was the inaugural Cronkite Data Fellow at the Houston Chronicle, using data analysis to cover charities and their response to Hurricane Harvey. Emily has also worked at the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting and the Arizona Republic. Her work has been published by more than 25 outlets across the country and has been recognized nationally by the Society of Professional Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors. She holds a graduate degree in mass communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
