Henry Mack

Former Senior Chancellor and Vice President Strategy & Innovation at St. Thomas University

Henry Mack is the Vice President, Strategy & Innovation at St. Thomas University. Prior to this he served as the Senior Chancellor at the Florida Department of Education—overseeing all higher education, K-20 career and technical education, adult education, apprenticeships, disability education and employment services, and workforce and economic development initiatives for the great State of Florida.

The position was responsible for the Division of Florida Colleges, the Division of Career and Adult Education, the Divisions of Blind Services and Vocational Rehabilitation, the Office for Workforce Education Quality & Economic Development, and the Commission for Independent Education, collectively serving over 2 million students and a budget totaling ~$3 billion, annually.

Prior to serving as Senior Chancellor, he served as the Chancellor for the Division of Career and Adult Education. The Division itself is accountable for all career and technical education programs and activity across a system of 48 technical centers and colleges, 28 state community colleges, and K-12 public schools, with a combined enrollment of almost 1 million students, annually.

Henry has also held various positions throughout Florida’s higher education system, from College Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to various faculty positions at Florida International University and Florida State University.

Currently serving as a visiting professor the University of Miami teaching courses in philosophy and religion and Vice President for Strategy at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.

Recognized as 2019’s South Florida’s 40 under 40, with graduate degrees in philosophy and theology from The Catholic University of America. Doctorate in higher education administration and the philosophy of education from the University of Miami.
