Lead Certified CPI Meritorious Instructor, Tampa General Hospital
The Tampa Bay Chamber Women of Influence Committee is honored to welcome James White as the featured presenter for our August Pearls of Experience event, where he will lead an empowering and practical Women’s Self-Defense Training session.
James brings more than 30 years of expertise in personal safety, crisis intervention, and martial arts instruction. He began his career at Tampa General Hospital 17 years ago and currently serves as the organization’s Lead Certified CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention) Meritorious Instructor, having trained and certified more than 9,000 healthcare professionals in de-escalation, disengagement, and personal safety techniques. Throughout his career, James has developed and led numerous safety programs focused on protecting healthcare team members, patients, and visitors, including active shooter preparedness, workplace violence prevention, bedside safety training, and women’s self-defense.
Prior to joining TGH, James served as an FDLE Certified Use of Force Instructor for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, where he trained officers throughout the state. He is also a US Health Certified Emergency Hazmat Instructor, an IAHSS Certified Manager (International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety), and a highly respected speaker and educator.
