
Katie Godwin
The University of Tampa
Katie Godwin has served The University of Tampa (UT) in positions of increasing scope and responsibility since 2018, working in the areas of student support and resilience, campus safety, and emergency management. She is currently the Emergency Operations Coordinator.
As a professional at UT, she has developed policies and presentations regarding personal preparedness and safety education, campus demonstrations and civil unrest, and foundational emergency management principles. She has authored functional annexes to the emergency operations plan and plays an integral role in University compliance efforts with federal statutes and academic accreditation.
She serves as the University Liaison during activations in the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center, the Vice Chair for the Hillsborough County Universities Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST), the Vice President for the Greater Tampa Bay chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP), and is a member of the City of Tampa’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Katie Godwin holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Management, an MBA, and a M.S. in Cybersecurity from The University of Tampa. She also possesses a graduate certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Florida State University.
