Chief Executive Officer, United Way Suncoast
Kourtney Sanchez serves as Chief Executive Officer of United Way Suncoast, bringing leadership experience spanning nonprofit management, corporate social responsibility, communications, and fundraising. Known for her strategic approach to philanthropy and partnership development, Sanchez has built a career bridging the nonprofit and corporate sectors to drive meaningful social impact.
Before joining United Way Suncoast, Sanchez served as Chief Impact Officer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where she led the organization's community impact strategy and oversaw philanthropic investments, partnerships, and programs at both the local and national levels. She also served as Executive Director of the Glazer Family Foundation and Glazer Vision Foundation, directing the family’s philanthropic initiatives and community engagement efforts.
During her tenure, Sanchez launched several transformative programs designed to expand opportunity and strengthen communities throughout the Tampa Bay region. Most notably, she helped establish the Glazer Family Small Business Fund, a $1.6 million grant initiative supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses. She also created and led the Buccaneers’ She is Football Weekend, a signature event celebrating and advancing the Bucs’ commitment to women’s and young girls’ leadership development. The event featured a women’s career summit, a 5k run, a girls flag tournament, and a women-owned business market – selling out all events both years.
Prior to the Buccaneers, Sanchez served as Chief Development & Communications Officer for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, where she increased organizational revenue by 130%, led a comprehensive brand refresh, and launched a new digital platform to accelerate awareness and engagement.
Earlier in her career, Sanchez held executive leadership roles with AdventHealth, serving as Executive Director of the Hillsborough County Foundations. There, she directed fundraising and community initiatives across multiple campuses and successfully completed a $21 million capital campaign that helped fund the Taneja Center for Surgery, one of the region’s most significant healthcare expansion projects. She has also held leadership positions with the American Heart Association and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Sanchez holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, a Master of Management Studies from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School.
