Mary Pat King
Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of West Central Florida
Mary Pat King is the Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, serving nearly 19,000 members across eight counties. Appointed CEO in early 2020, she leads one of the region’s largest youth-development organizations, advancing leadership, belonging, and opportunity for girls in grades K-8.
With more than 25 years of national nonprofit leadership experience, Mary Pat has designed, launched, and scaled high-impact programs focused on youth, families, education, and public health. Her career includes senior leadership roles with National PTA, American Diabetes Association, and Safe Kids Worldwide, where she led nationally recognized initiatives, built cross-sector partnerships, and expanded community engagement efforts across the U.S. and internationally. During her career, she has helped secure more than $10 million in corporate and foundation funding and advised nonprofits and federal agencies on large-scale public education and behavior-change campaigns.
Mary Pat earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and John Maxwell Certified Leadership Trainer in 2019. She serves on the Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women and Girl Scout Staff Association Board. A frequent speaker on leadership, nonprofit leadership and youth development issues, she holds a master’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. She lives in Palm Harbor with her husband and two children, and she is celebrating 10 years as a proud Girl Scout parent volunteer.
