
MaryBeth Williams
Executive Director – Friends of the Riverwalk
MaryBeth Williams currently serves as the Executive Director of Friends of the Riverwalk, whose mission is to work collaboratively with the city of Tampa and other organizations to continue to develop, activate and promote the Tampa Riverwalk. In this role she oversees event programming, marketing, sponsorship, membership, grant writing, and finance as well as the specialty cup, personalized paver and Riverwalk banner programs.
MaryBeth Williams is a native Floridian who spent 16 years in the public education system as a math teacher and assistant principal. After leaving education, she served as the Senior Director of Leadership Programs at the Tampa Bay Chamber for three years where she was responsible for all event programming, membership, sponsorship and budgeting for Leadership Programs. Her passion has always been to make the community that she lives in a better place for future generations.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. She is an honorary commander for the 927th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, a volunteer site supervisor for Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, a TampaWell committee member, a Downtown Tampa CRA CAC committee member, an honorary Leadership Tampa Alumni member, and a graduate of the Hillsborough County BackStage Pass Program. She resides In Palm Harbor, Florida with her husband of 28 years. She has two adult sons who also reside in the Tampa Bay area. She enjoys volunteering, animals, sports, boating and travel.
