
Megan Gerken
Outreach Liaison – Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections
Currently, Megan Gerken is the Outreach Liaison for Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections where she is responsible for identifying and implementing voter education opportunities within the community. She is passionate about inspiring civic engagement in others and connecting the community with government resources. Megan has previously worked as the Director of Operations for a local wellness institution where she oversaw community programming, event planning, membership coordination, and marketing. She has worked for the State of Florida’s Guardian ad Litem Program as a Volunteer Manager and was later promoted to Community Outreach Coordinator. Here Megan supervised volunteers to oversee Florida’s most vulnerable citizens- those in the state’s foster care system. Megan is also a small business owner and founded her wellness business, Calidora Living, in 2017. Through Calidora Living, Megan empowers clients to cultivate authenticity and balance within their lives.
Megan is the Chair for the Development Committee for New Life Village, the Assistant Chair for the Community Advisory Board for Junior League of Tampa, a member of The Young Leaders Society for The United Way, and is currently founding the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida alumni association. She is an alumni of the City of Tampa Mayor’s Neighborhood University and a former Mentor in the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Collegiate Mentor Program. She has previously had the honor of being an Ambassador with the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the Inclusion Committee Chair for Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay, a Camp CEO Mentor for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, and a guest lecturer for the Startup Training Resources to Inspire Veteran Entrepreneurship (STRIVE) program at Hillsborough Community College. Megan was also a finalist for the Tampa Chamber’s Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader Award and a finalist for the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador Of The Year Award.
Megan has been a resident of the Tampa Bay area for over 25 years. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice. She is currently a graduate student at the University of South Florida studying for her Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a concentration in Public Management.
