Nadeam A. Elshami

After 25 years at the highest levels of House and Senate leadership, Nadeam Elshami concluded his career in public service as chief of staff to former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and currently serves as the managing director of Brownstein’s Washington, D.C. office. He has co-chaired the firm’s Government Relations Department through a period of consistent growth and expansion and continues to influence the nation’s most pressing policy debates through his representation of clients from a diverse range of industries. Nadeam navigates complex caucus politics to drive progress on matters spanning health care, artificial intelligence, emerging technology, trade, private capital, hospitality, education, defense, and energy, among other spaces.

His innovative strategies routinely combine targeted advocacy with nuanced public relations elements to create influential messaging that reverberates back to key policymakers. His deep relationships draw from all corners of the Democratic coalition, and his ability to work across the aisle resonates with influential figures across the federal government.

During his tenure on Capitol Hill, Nadeam shepherded historic legislation through both chambers of Congress. His sound policy instincts and deft messaging abilities, honed by years spent in leadership and personal offices in the House and Senate, enabled him to serve as a steady hand during bicameral, bipartisan negotiations.

Nadeam previously served as former-Leader Pelosi’s communications director. Prior, he served as senior communications advisor to Assistant Democratic Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL), deputy chief of staff and communications director to Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and deputy press secretary to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
