Terrie Daniel, a native of Flint, Michigan, has been a longtime advocate for diverse business enterprises across the country. Her passion is to assist these businesses by creating a level playing field, by providing educational tools and resources to drive business growth and development. Her advocacy within the public and private sectors, has naturally led to the launch of Cardinal Consulting Group LLC (CCG), where she serves as President and CEO.
CCG is a boutique firm that specializes in offering innovative and tactical solutions for corporate and non-profit organizations, driving successful performance around diversity, equity and inclusion.
Daniel additionally serves as the Assistant Vice President of Supplier Diversity at the University of South Florida. As the inaugural appointee for this position, Daniel successfully developed the universities supplier diversity program from the ground up, and along with her outstanding team, continues to successfully manage the university’s program. This program now comprises extensive outreach components, educational tools and resources for small and diverse business owners, and as a result, has generated more than $115m in spend with diverse business enterprises within the first three years of the program.
Prior to joining the University of South Florida in 2017, she held the position of Deputy Commissioner of the State of Indiana’s Department of Administration, guided by then Gov. Mike Pence prior to his appointment as Vice President of the United States.
In this position, she served as the lead primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all supplier diversity initiatives for the State of Indiana, which encompassed managing a statewide team of diverse business certification specialists and business development experts.
Additionally, in this position, Daniel collaborated to develop effective partner relationships locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally with individuals and organizations that mirrored the organizational business strategy. She ultimately added value to the economy by increasing the utilization of minority-, women- and veteran-owned business enterprises and was very instrumental in interpreting relevant statutes and laws to assist state legal counsel and legislative elected and appointed officials with formulating policy recommendations shaping statewide program success.
Daniel has an extensive background in project management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Computer Information Systems from Ferris State University, a Master of Contract Compliance from Morgan State University and she is an ordained minister.
Daniel serves as a member of several professional organizations including KNOW Cares, Board Member, The American Contract Compliance Association, Past Instructor, Business Ownership Initiative; Past Board Member, a division of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Central Indiana Women’s Business Council, Past Board Member, and Use What You’ve Got Ministries, Board Member, in addition to various organizations across the Tampa Bay region.
Daniel frequently speaks to empower audiences including business professionals, women empowerment and entrepreneurship organizations, young professionals and at-risk teens. She has also been a longtime volunteer, mentor and advocate for Kairo’s Torch, a Florida-based mentoring ministry to incarcerated offenders ages 25 and under that addresses all facets of the youthful offender’s life including mental health, socialization and decision-making skills.
