Tony Selvaggio believes business models are the most effective way to tackle social challenges. He arrived in the U.S. in 2011 from his hometown in Venezuela, chasing the American dream with just a few hundred dollars in his pocket. He found a welcoming community in Tampa, FL, that gave him purpose.

In 2014, Tony founded eSmart Recycling—a mission-driven business combining environmental responsibility with a focus on community empowerment. The company recycles technology at both corporate and residential levels, offsetting carbon emissions while increasing access to education and tech. This effort brought him into the spotlight, giving him a voice on issues like education access, opportunity gaps, immigration, and sustainability.

eSmart Recycling has donated nearly 3,000 computers to over 50 nonprofits in the Tampa Bay area. Tony uses his business and community platforms to unite people, foster collaboration, and find creative solutions to real-world problems. His blend of academic insight, hands-on experience, and cultural fluency gives him a unique edge.
