Jael Jackson
Creative Services Manager
Jael Jackson is the Creative Services Manager at the Tampa Bay Chamber. She oversees the visual side of the Chamber's marketing and branding, from their events, to their social media graphics, and everything in between!
Her creativity is a product of a life-long love for art and writing. Jael has had a passion for art ever since she saw Blue's Clues at the age of four. Eventually, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and Creative Writing from Ringling College of Art and Design. Since graduating, Jael has expanded her knowledge, earning certifications in volunteer management, grant writing, and UX Design. Having such a unique mix of skills, Jael has worked in a wide variety of creative jobs. She taught in the Hillsborough County Public School system as an art teacher before transitioning to museum education at the Tampa Museum of Art. All the while, she's always been engaging in her passion projects. She creates web comics, takes photographs, draws for independently funded zines, creates logos for small businesses, and illustrates children's books. On the writing side, Jael has authored children's chapter books and non-fiction, having multiple books traditionally and independently published, and counting! No matter what occupation Jael holds, she's always on the hunt for a good story. Whether she's writing it, drawing it, or a combination of both if there's a story worth telling, Jael loves to find the most effective way of communicating that narrative to her audience. It's this love of storytelling and years of creative problem-solving that Jael brings to the Chamber's visuals.
Jael was born in the Bronx, New York, but has lived in Florida for most of her life, acquiring the unique mix of a Southern vernacular with a Northern accent (so she's been told). Outside of work, Jael likes to unwind by watching anime, watercolor painting, digital drawing, writing, volunteer work with her congregation, or trying out new creative hobbies like crocheting and puzzling. And when she's not doing that, she's probably out looking for the perfect strawberry donut to eat.
