Katie Lopez, IOM is part of the Tampa Bay Chamber’s executive leadership team, overseeing the organization’s Marketing and Communications, Public Policy, and Government Relations efforts at the regional, state, and federal levels. In her role, she ensures the Chamber’s voice is strategically aligned across advocacy, storytelling, and brand visibility while amplifying the organization’s impact and strengthening its position as the unified voice of business in Tampa Bay.

A champion for economic opportunity and leadership development, Lopez currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Association of Chamber of Commerce Professionals, contributing to the advancement and professional growth of chamber leaders statewide. She is a past chair of the Hiring Our Heroes Tampa Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone and previously served as a board member of Mission United. In 2021, she was recognized by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) as a 40 Under 40 recipient, spotlighting emerging leaders shaping the chamber industry nationwide. In 2023, she was similarly honored by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, named to its prestigious 40 Under 40 list of top business leaders in the Tampa Bay region.

Since joining the Tampa Bay Chamber in 2018, Lopez’s leadership has been instrumental in securing national recognition for the Chamber’s work supporting military families. These honors include the Association of Defense Communities’ Great American Defense Community Award, the Hiring Our Heroes Three-Star Chamber of Valor Award, and the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Community of the Year Award. Under her leadership, Tampa Bay successfully recruited and launched the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program and the Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone, as well as was named the 2024 recipient of the Abilene Trophy.

Prior to joining the Tampa Bay Chamber, Lopez served as Director of Military & Governmental Affairs at the Christian County Chamber of Commerce and was named 2017 Staff Member of the Year by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.

A native Floridian, Katie holds a Master of Arts in Social Responsibility and Sustainable Communities from Western Kentucky University and a Post-Crisis Leadership Certificate from the University of South Florida. She is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Class of 2024.
