Originally from NJ, Patie Powers and her family chose to move to Tampa Bay after her husband retired from the Navy. She received her BS in Industrial Engineering and Economics from the University of Minnesota. Her career started with a large international insurance company as a Performance Engineer. As she moved with the company, she went on to be an Implementation Manager for their new accounting and billing system. She also worked as a Customer Service Manager and a Market and Pricing Manager. After many Navy moves and countless volunteer positions, once settled in Tampa, she returned to the corporate world as a Financial Advisor. At the same time, she began volunteering as the Tampa Network Lead for the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Professional Network, working to connect the local business community with Military Spouses who wanted to pursue their professional careers. Through that volunteer work, Patie became very engaged with many Tampa Bay business and community leaders, advocating on behalf of professional Military Spouses and the value they bring to any organization.
